The perfect place to stay for people just wanting to relax and slow down. Braemar is beautiful, with lovely views of the lake and mountains just a short walk from the cottage.P, and Julia is a great hostess. The wood burner keeps the cottage very warm and there is plenty of firewood supplied. There are comfortable couches for reading by the fire and the kitchen is well-equipped. We will definitely be back and for longer than 3 nights next time.

Well what can we say to adequately describe our recent experience at this property? Our party of 5 adults stayed here for 2 nights (wish it had been for longer!), and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house has fantastic views over Lake Pukaki and the snow capped mountains, which we could have sat and gazed at all day (and night) long. We were blessed with the weather and were able to make full use of the BBQ and outdoor seating area, for breakfast lunch and tea. There is comfortable seating in the lounge with a T.V. if you can bare to take your eyes away from the view! There is a large dining table and chairs. The kitchen was well provisioned for cooking too. (Take your own food, as it is a long drive to the nearest town if you have forgot something!) There were 3 bedrooms, 1 double/queen reached through a room with twin beds and a separate twin room off the living area. There is a separate toilet and shower room with laundry facilities. There are other accommodation options at the station, but all are separate and private from each other. We drove to Lake Tekapo whilst staying and whilst it was nice there, we were so glad to return to "our own Lake" afterwards to cook a Salmon for tea from the Mt Cook Fisheries. The owner was very prompt in answering queries and the booking process was seamless. Everyone we met at the property were very courteous and friendly. Overall an excellent property to wind down at and just spend time in this fantastic part of the world. We would definitely recommend this property to others and hope to return one day.
