Our stay at Totara Waters was the highlight of our trip to NZ. The accommodation sits within a magnificent garden and has a spacious verandah so you can sit in comfort, or dine outside, and enjoy peace and quiet . Jocelyn and Peter are perfect hosts: friendly, welcoming, generous, laidback but always available if you need them. The accommodation may appear slightly rustic on first sight, but it is amazingly well equipped (you could cook the most complex meat) with good quality appliances and tools. All fixtures and fittings are well chosen for comfort and quality. There are comfortable armchairs and sofas and an excellent shower. Totara Waters provides a perfect haven for relaxation or recuperation. There is a good café (The Puriri Café) in Whenuapai Village, and another OK one on the junction of Totara Road and Brigham Creek Road. .
