Ohiwa Harbour is a calm sheltered estuary popular for sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming. There is an 18 hole golf course at the end of the pennisula that looks out over the sea and the harbour. A casual round is about $25 NZD There are numerous fishing charters available in the local township of Whakatane which is a 10 minute drive. The fishing is very good, especially in summer. There are also endless options for walking and biking
