Nestled in a sunny tranquil and sheltered area on a farm and avocado orchard you will wake to the melodic bird songs of another beautiful day. (No spraying will take place during your stay). This property is a very quiet and restful place. The wool carpet gives a lovely soft and quiet ambiance. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, gas hobs, microwave, fridge/freezer, etc... There is a washing machine, iron etc. This cottage is run by solar energy so care is to be taken. The Cottage has a Bbq and fish cleaning facilities with a place to wash down your boat. We welcome you when you arrive. We back onto the Aupouri Forest where you can enjoy the walking or biking tracks to the lakes or to the infamous 90 Mile Beach. It is 5 minutes to the Houhora Wharf Store and the Pukenui Pacific Bar/Cafe & Takeaways and the Fishing Club where excellent meals are served while looking at the beautiful view over Houhora Harbour. Fishing Charters can be arranged to catch that wished for fish but we need time to pre-book. A trip to Cape Reinga along 90 Mile Beach and the famous Te Paki Stream and Sand Dunes can be arranged as well as horse trekking. These need to be arranged and booked in advance. Other things to do includes visiting Gumdiggers Buried Kauri Gum fields and learn the local history as you walk through the park. Houhora Golf Club, Kayaking, Big Game fishing, surfing and Quad Bike fun are also available to fill your leisure time. Come, explore and enjoy this wonderful winterless north with us.
