About this Holiday House

Retro Inn #2 is a warm, sunny classic 'kiwi' holiday home with plenty of character, and great lake and mountain views from the deck. A cosy living area opens onto a small deck with outdoor seating from which to enjoy the vista. An internal staircase leads up to the main queen bedroom on a mezzanine floor. Two more bedrooms are on the main floor, along with the bathroom, including shower and bathtub. Log burner with firewood supplied, heatpump, TV, DVD. Full kitchen facilities. Garage underneath suitable for storage of ski gear in winter. Please note, as this is a wooden 'Lockwood' house it does creak with changes in the outside temperature. Linen, towels and cleaning is included in the nightly rate. For larger groups, the adjoining Retro Inn #1 may also be booked, depending on availability. Tekapo has a lot on offer whatever the season...skiing, boating, fishing, walking, tramping, mountain biking, photography, star-gazing, horse treks, scenic flights, ice-skating, golf, paddle boarding, 4WDing, hot pools...and more! Retro Inn holiday home is located just a few minutes drive from Tekapo’s village centre, lakefront, restaurants, shops, hot springs and observatory. Mt Dobson and Roundhill Ski Areas are both within an hours drive. Tekapo is also the perfect base for exploring neighbouring Mackenzie Country attractions of Twizel, Lakes' Pukaki & Ohau and Aoraki Mount Cook.

We stayed here back in October 2018 and totally loved the place! I was everything we needed in a holiday house and was perfect for us. Very clean, warm, comfortable, great layout, wonderful views. Just fantastic! One of the reasons we chose this place is because it allowed animals, so we took our little dog which at the time we paid a small fee for. I see now there is no pets allowed which is such a shame as we really wanted to stay again. I was a great place, but a word of warning... don't walk down the slippery stairs in just your socks!

Enjoyed our stay. lovely warm, cosy place and well equipped with everything we needed- nice and clean. would return if ever back that way.

We loved this place! A cosy quirky retro nest that reminded us of childhood family shacks back home. We stayed here 1 night over easter (thankyou!) as 2 families of 5. The kids were in heaven over the trapdoor and ladder access to the bunkroom downstairs. Wouldn't recommend it for families with toddlers though. Beautiful view. Would return.
