Lovely quiet location to base yourself and do the walks around Stewart Island. Cottage has everything you need to be self sufficient. Fiona did a great job meeting us at the Ferry and orientating us around town. Loved our stay here.

Had a wonderful stay with good, although cold weather. Great beach views, good heating, well equipped kitchen, plenty of linen etc. Very comfortable mattresses on the bunk beds. Just a thought, that if it is wet weather and a full house it would be wonderful to have a clothes dryer. Otherwise perfect!

We loved Stewart Island! Fi and Heath are fabulous hosts and Beechside Cottage is the perfect location for rest and relaxation. Heath kindly collected us from the flight office and was super friendly and informative, even giving us a wee tour and some great recommendations. Fi had prepared the house and it was very clean and cozy. The house was a 10 to 15 min walk to the town which was fine for us. We walked a lot of the local trails and ate battered mussels, battered cod and chips and drank jugs of Emersons Orange Roughy. The coffee and home made baking at The Snuggery cafe was such a treat and everyone was welcoming. Heath dropped us back for our flight home and we were sad to leave. It's a special place. Wonderful time away and an amazing place to relax and recuperate. We will be back. Thanks Fi and Heath.
