Awesome cabin will stay again
Sarah
We stayed three nights at Hautakerekere Cabin and had a awesome time. Being a family of 2 adults and 5 kids (aged from 10 yrs up) getting away from home on time is always a challenge, however Jeff was kind enough to guide us to the cabin in the dark. The track in to the cabin was off road and amazing in the dark through all the trees, the kids loved it. The Cabin was clean and tidy on arrival and the fire heated the cabin (and hot water) very efficiently, it actually got so hot that we had the door and windows open. Jeff provided a big bag of kindling, pinecones and paper to make starting the fire nice and easy. The bunks were comfy and the toilet and shower were more than adequate. We spent time biking, walking and horse trekking and were generally in awe of how bueatiful the scenery is around Peel Forest and its surrounds. Jeff was very kind and very helpful, for example he was happy to supply a bike pump when one of the kids had taken our one out of the pack! There was a low ropes course just on the door step that the kids loved. We were reluctant to leave. I highly recommend this accommodation, it sits within a beautiful stand of populars with podocarp forests a mere five minute walk away. Was a real treat we will definitely be back.

We've stayed in both this cabin and the straw bale cabin next door. We always have wonderful time and Jeff and the team go out of their way to be of assistance. Facilities are more than adequate and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a holiday where they can get back to basics.
