About this Holiday House

Our cabin is off the grid so everything works with gas or solar power. Leave behind your hairdryer, come and kick back and relax. There is 1 bedroom with a queen size bed. The kitchen is fully stocked and has a gas oven and a gas fridge/freezer. We are happy for a tent to be put up on the lawn. We are an hour from the nearest shops so you must bring everything you require. Fill up your vehicle before leaving Dargaville. Buy rubbish bags and recycling bags from Dargaville Countdown so you can pack out what you bring in.

Special Amenities

Excellent views of the Kaipara Harbour. The beach is an 8min walk. Great fishing by boat or surfcasting. It is a good swimming beach. There are no close neighbours but it is our farm so you may see us out and about working. Bring your horse and graze for a fee and enjoy a gallop along the beach. Enjoy the stars at night from the deck.

Horse Treking nearby. Kahuparere Adventures The Pouto Lighthouse is 7km around the beach. There are no shops, garages or cafes so you must bring everything with you and fill up your car in Dargaville.

Beautiful retreat above Pouto Point with stunning views from the deck. Very clean, will all the amenities you need when off grid. Access to beach is easy if you have a 4x4 else there is a new wharf you can fish off. Pouto Lighthouse is a short drive up the beach, but allow for the tides so your not caught out.

It's a fantastic place to stay! There were beautiful views to wake up to and Christine was so helpful in getting my van out of the mud.

Apart from forgetting bait this was the best weekend we could have ever asked for !! We had a beautiful stay at The Cabin, 5 star views. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, great shower and enough room for us all. It was very peaceful and we had our own privacy. The balcony views were beautiful and set the tone for the day. Close to the beach and we even made it to the Pouto Lighthouse. The kids got to feed the horses and pigs which was a big highlight for them . Thank you Christine & Andrew we loved our stay !!
