No1, Mapua Wharfside Apartments is ideally situated on the beautiful, scenic ,ever changing Waimea estuary by the wharf.
Great views to Rabbit Island and out to D'Urville Island.
The front garden which has been left as a beach is great for playing boulles, building castles or just lazing around. It has steps leading from the front garden directly onto the beach and to the wharf.
Once a busy coastal freight wharf, during the orchard heyday, Mapua wharf is now the focal point for locals and holiday makers.
Here you can enjoy the Cafe & Restaurant culture, arts and crafts, boutique brewery, listen to the occasional live music and watch the world go by, or be at peace, relax and self- cater within the comfort of the light and airy well equipped apartment or BBQ on the private decks.
Fill your days with a peaceful morning kayak, afternoon swim or an evening fishing.
Jumping off the wharf as the tide goes out is a great local sport, a speedy, fun ride for all ages!

The Great Taste of Tasman cycle trail runs from Nelson to Kaiteriteri, through Mapua.
Take the ferry across from Mapua to Rabbit Island where you can picnic on the golden sands, cycle the gentle loop or carry on the trail to Nelson. Suitable for all ages and abilities.
There are also a multitude of road, mountain biking and walking/tramping trails around the Nelson/Tasman region of varying degrees of length and difficulty.
To help you enjoy your time here, Kayaks, life vests, fishing rods, tennis raquets, and golf clubs can be borrowed from us on request.

There are a multitude of wineries, activities, attractions, art galleries and tours in and around Mapua, Tasman region.
A small supermarket in Mapua provides a wide range of goods and a post office.
The village has the usual amenities.
Motueka, Nelson and Richmond towns are a short drive away.

Picton ferry
A beautiful crossing from Wellington to Picton on the Interislander ferry, is a great option if you wish to saunter along and enjoy the journey and views.
It is then a 2 hour car journey through to Nelson then on to Mapua.
Bookings can be made in advance via the internet.
Nelson Airport
Flying into Nelson airport from any of the major airports also has lovely views and is a quicker option..
Be aware that luggage allowances between International and domestic flights will differ.
You can prepay a nominal fee if you know the weight difference or pay a greater fee at the airport check in. .
If flying Air New Zealand international and domestic this does not apply.
Car Hire
You can organise car hire prior to your journey to ensure a waiting car, or pick up a rental on your arrival.
There are a number of rental companies based near the airport that can be accessed on line.
Directions to 6 Iwa Street
Once you reach Richmond on highway 6, turn off onto state highway 60.
Travel along for 14km.
Turn right onto Mapua Drive. carry on for 1.4km
Turn right onto Aranui Road for 1.4km.
Turn left onto Iwa Street. We are the long driveway opposite the fire station.
