About this Holiday House
Welcome to our cosy nest! This is the place to slow down, kick back and enjoy the sounds of nature. Our rustic kiwi bach is set in a semi-rural setting while only six minutes drive into Gisborne town and the beautiful surf beaches. We can sleep up to four adults or two adults with three kids, two of the queen beds are loft beds accessed by ladder making for a fun space! Our character filled bach makes for the perfect place to unwind with friends, family or your special someone.
The space
Our property is a little wild! Being surrounded by forest, do not be surprised to have visits from native birds, Kereru, Tuis and Herons to name a few, also listen for the Moreporks (a small brown owl) at night! You may also encounter a few bugs and flies, we try to keep them out of the property but we believe it’s all part of the experience and they are harmless!
Inside we have a character filled cabin like bach with timber features and all sorts of up-cycled materials. We have a nice open plan living and kitchen area with a loft queen bed that is accessed by a ladder (see photos). The main bedroom has a queen bed, small closet and queen loft bed also accessed by a ladder. The bathroom features a shower over a claw foot bath, please note you will need to step into this. We rely solely on rain water so ask guests to be mindful of their water use, we provide drinking water for our guests.
Please note, cell phone coverage is patchy, Spark has the best coverage around the nest. Decent coverage s a short stroll away.
Guest access
Guests have private access to the Captain's Nest and surrounding lawns and garden, plenty of outdoor space! Parking is just metres from the front door.
Interaction with guests
We love a chat but also like our own space and understand that you might too! We live on the property, our house is about 9 metres from the Nest. We are always happy to help and welcome our guests.
