This near new open plan property has everything you could want for your next holiday in Pohara. After a busy day exploring all that Golden Bay (so called because of it's lovely golden sand) has to offer, forget the hustle & bustle and relax and take it easy in this peaceful, sunny, well equipped holiday home. Pohara is the centre of this district, with cafes, bars and a shop for supplies. Swimming here is wonderful for children because the water is very shallow and warm until further out from the beach, with a very gradual depth increase, perfect for children to play & swim safely. The beach is a favourite for long walks in the late afternoon or early evening. The beach, shop, cafes and restaurants are a mere 2 minutes walk away, unlike other beaches, where one has to travel to Pohara for such things. It is very convenient when you need an ice cream on a hot day! Takaka township is a 10 minute drive to banks, supermarket, restaurants and shops. An ATM machine is located at the supermarket. The house is fully equipped, including towels and linen (and beach towels). A fabulous place to come and relax in any season, perfect for a winter escape due to the mild climate, which is more like autumn than winter. The house is cosy & private with fully fenced section for the little ones, and with so many activities available within a short drive. The fishing out from Pohara beach is excellent, with many varieties caught, including blue cod, snapper & gurnard, to name a few. Plenty of room to park the boat, and has an outside stainless sink for preparing the fish too! Public boat ramp only minutes away. (please wash boat down while at ramp as we only have the 1 tank for all water). A request: PLEASE, no strong or pungent cooking, i.e. curries etc, where the smell lingers, as this may be offensive to the next guests. Please also only use the beach towels outside the house, not the house towels. Used nappies are NOT to be left in the rubbish bin, as this is unpleasant for the next guests) please remove these when leaving. When vacating, please clean the whole house ready for the next holidaymakers to enjoy as you did (vacuum, wipe surfaces, clean floors, oven etc). Leave towels in laundry hampers or on floor in bathroom or kitchen. * The cleaning fee covers stripping beds, cost of laundry & drying, and making beds up again only. If you do not wish to clean the house, please ask and we will add an extra fee for this. You must still leave it in a tidy condition. Check-in is AFTER 4pm please, and we offer a more leisurely check-out time of BY 10.00am. Please respect these times to enable us to have the house ready for the next guests who may be checking in the same day.
