Our two day stay was just what we needed after a demanding and challenging year in 2023. Amanda was the perfect host - making sure we had everything we needed, making personal contact on the first day and then leaving us alone unless we needed anything. The property had a calm ambience and was clean and tidy - mixing the traditional villa era with a modern touch. The extras - small cupboard staples were thoughtful. Although we came prepared to be self-sufficient, it would have been useful, had we forgotten anything. It was as though a friend had lent us their house and said 'just use what you need'. The resident cat, 'Kitten' was very accommodating and didn't impose herself on us at all, but was always friendly and not 'needy' in any way. Having grown up in similar rural villas, the reminiscences were lovely and helped us to ease into 2024. If this is your first time staying in rural NZ, remember to bring enough milk and bread (or similar) to see you through. Since returning home we've recommended it to several people and would happily stay again.
