THE PROPERTY: The property is a two-storey, architecturally-designed home set on a hillside above the city. Light, bright and spacious with amazing views in leafy surroundings, the house provides plenty of space for even large groups to relax in comfort and style with 4 large bedrooms (1 x King, 3 x Queen, 1 x sofa bed). An upmarket, unique and comfortable home with plenty of space in beautiful surroundings. * Best of both worlds: Proximity to the city + privacy and space in tranquil surroundings. * 1000 sqm of gardens including water features and extensive native & subtropical plantings. * Multiple decks, pergolas, balconies and sunny outdoor spaces to take in the stunning views. * Multiple living areas , high-speed wifi and dedicated workspaces: ideal for corporate groups. * Two separate lounges with Smart TVs (55’ and 50”) and Netflix included. * Large kitchen with 90cm oven, convection cooktop and lots of appliances (Nespresso machine, blender, air-fryer, sandwich press...). * Sunny, spacious upstairs lounge includes soundbar, subwoofer and Bluetooth LP player * Two bathrooms (1 bathtub), 2 separate toilets and laundry with big Bosch washer and super-efficient Panasonic heat pump dryer. * Enjoy the sounds of native birdsong and the stream running through the property. * Two large heatpumps, panel heaters, solar power, double-glazing & extensive insulation: cosy and comfortable in any weather! Please note: due to safety hazards (open waterways, trip hazards, high walkways, etc), the property may not be suitable for some children and any children must always be supervised by an adult while in the gardens. As parts of the property are steep and slippery we do ask guests to note any “no entry” signs for their own safety and the protection of growing plants and nesting birds. GUEST ACCESS: Check-in is fast and easy using our smart lock. You will have the entire property to yourself – there are no hosts onsite and no spaces shared with anyone other than the people in your group. There is free off-street parking available for two cars on our parking deck. We recommended reversing onto the cardeck as this makes it much easier to get out. Our street is steep and narrow, so generally not recommended for vans or large vehicles. If you have large vehicles or more than 2 cars, please contact us for parking advice. Please note: Some parts of the garden are restricted for safety reasons and for the protection of wildlife so please note any signs indicating restricted areas. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE: Although this is a two-storey house, the upper floor is at street level so can be accessed without stairs. There are stairs inside to access the lower floor only. We have a motion-activated security camera on each of the two entrances and one on the parking area for our guests' peace of mind. There are also a few cameras in the gardens to monitor wildlife in the area. Cameras are not monitored but recordings can be retrieved if needed. There are no cameras inside the house. Unfortunately, due to host allergies we are unable to accommodate any pets (including assistance animals). As the house is set amongst a number of trees, there will often be a lot of leaves around the property. These build up very quickly so despite sweeping of driveways and decks between guests, you should always expect that there will be some leaves around. Our rubbish bins are small and only collected once every two weeks. As such, excessive rubbish left behind causes major problems and impacts other guests. Please use the yellow (recycling), green (food waste) and red (general waste) bins on the driveway during your stay. Feel free to use the bins for any rubbish accumulated during your stay but these cannot be used for rubbish brought from elsewhere as we do not have space. It is really important that all recycling (paper, plastic, glass, cans) goes into the yellow bin, otherwise the red bin will fill up very quickly!

Special Amenities

Unique setting on the Cashmere hills, nestled amongst native trees. We have expansive views over Christchurch city all the way to the Southern Alps and the sunrises & sunsets are just spectacular from here! The property includes 1,000 square metres of native trees, bushes, flowers, and fruit trees so we have plenty of peace & quiet - usually the only noise is from the many bellbirds and fantails. Despite the wilderness setting, we're still very centrally located & so close to the city.

Special Attractions and Activities Nearby

There are plenty of cafes, shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood, or it's an easy walk into the city. There's cycling, walking, mountain biking, Adventure Park and the Crater Rim walkway all within walking distance and it's only a short drive to vineyards, beaches and mountains. Within driving distance is Mount Hutt for skiing or snow adventures, or Hanmer Springs for nature, wine and thermal hot springs.
