Your homestay consists of a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms and bathroom with bath and shower. There is a terrace on both the east and west side of the apartment with French doors opening to lovely views over the garden and the farm. There is plenty of parking, but please park as near as possible to the rooms entrance. The pool is securely fenced, but otherwise the property is not fenced. There are board games and some books available, as well as petanque by request. The TV has approximately 25 channels free to air, as well as a Wifi connection enabling access to the web and email, as well as Netflix etc from your phone or laptop. Walking and cycling are possible on parts the farm, but strictly by arrangement, as it is a working farm. Any gates must be left open or closed as you find them. Guest access Guests have access to the parking area in front of the rooms, the terrace areas on both sides of the rooms and the swimming pool area, but we do ask them to respect our private area to the right of the pool.

The homestay is situated approx 1 hour's drive from both Mount Hutt and the Craigieburn Valley skifields, with Porter Heights less than an hour, and the others a little longer. You are straight onto rural roads to get there, no city to navigate on the way. A similar situation applies in summer to tramping, climbing etc - Arthurs Pass is about 1.5 hours, plus boating on lakes such as Coleridge and Lyndon, and jet boating the Rakaia and Waimakariri rivers. We also are situated on the main inland highway SH72, so you can easily take attractive roads North and South from here, as well as access the West Coast via Arthurs Pass. Ballooning is available from Hororata, and there are some good cafes and restaurants within 10 minutes drive at Darfield, Glentunnel, Hororata, and Racecourse Hill. Most medium town services are available in Darfield including a supermarket, doctors, 3 fuel stations, and Gnomes for sporting requirements including ski hire.
