Montrose is a historical seaside villa with sweeping views over Warrington Beach. Relax on the deck and watch your friends or family enjoy a spot of tennis. Extensive lawns and gardens give the perfect setting for you to unwind and enjoy your stay and for the kids to explore. The house is suitable for a group of up to 4 couples with two extra single beds for children. It was built in 1927 using original kauri timber salvaged from the historic 1880 military barracks on nearby Taiaroa Head. A large central fireplace heats the main lounge and creates a beautifully aesthetic setting perfect for quiet retreats or family gatherings. The grounds include a large side and bottom lawn and extensive flower and vegetable gardens There is also a full size tennis court (rackets available bring your own balls). Access to the nearby beach (safe for swimming) just out the bottom gate and across the domain (which has a children's playground). Blueskin Bay a 5 minute stroll to the right with inter-tidal flats great for paddling, cockles and crab hinting under rocks with the kids. The Orokanui Sanctuary which now houses the Kiwi, Kaka, Takahe among other rare indigenous species is very close within a ten minute drive. The house is spacious, private and peaceful, has a wonderful character and different and varied spaces for the whole family to relax and enjoy. Warrington has a lovely community feel and there are great scenic coastal walks and drives. Beds and bedding are excellent quality and made up ready for your arrival. Bathroom facilities include a beautifully restored main bathroom with toilet bath and shower. There is also an additional separate toilet washroom at the other end of the house. Throughout the house are period furnishings and lighting. From various vantage points including the kitchen and upstairs room you can overlook the garden and beach. Special conditions: The price quoted is for three adults only. Further guests are charged in addition to this amount. Children priced as adults. Any damage during your stay is to be notified prior to departure and paid for if required. Smoking area available outside on the covered deck. Guests are expected to strip their bed sheets, collect towels etc into a pile or piles, do the dishes and put away as were found on arrival, pack up all rubbish, and leave the house tidy with everything where it was on arrival. The cleaning fee covers the linen and general house cleaning. All evidence of animals is to be cleaned by guests. The power fee includes wood, gas and electricity use within normal limits. All heaters, electric blankets etc to be turned off when the house is not occupied and at end of stay.
