The chalet is on 13 acres of rural land which means you really will enter your own slice of paradise with a safe space to park your car and boat. You can sit on the porch with a coffee or wine, relax and enjoy the glorious bush and mountainous views, the birds singing, and the fresh smell of New Zealand's native bush. With hosts that will go the extra mile ensuring your stay is a relaxed one you and your family will have opportunities to enjoy pony riding, feeding chickens, cuddling pets, seeing rabbits. If horse riding is your passion, why not use Helen as your personal guide or bring your own horse with you. Just imagine waking up and going for a trek along Lake Te Anau or the Waiau River. The spa pool is shared and close to our homestead for maintenance so we do not disturb guests, but still allows privacy during use and great to experience the stars in the purest dark skies of the southern hemisphere or enjoy the mountain views and watch the horses, alpaca, sheep and lambs. Pets include horses, dog, cat, sheep, chickens, rabbit and guinea pigs which are all favourites with guests of all ages. We highly recommend visiting Milford Sound - a stunning drive and a fantastic boat trip or another option is a visit to Doubtful Sound and the Manapouri Power Station. Your Kepler Oaks Chalet is located within the Fiordland National Park Scenic Reserve in a beautiful tranquil country location, only 5 minutes from Te Anau, and 15 minutes to Manapouri. If it's walking you're after, you'll be able to walk to the world famous Kepler Track only a 10 minute walk from the Chalet. We have ample parking if you wish to leave your vehicle whilst walking the track. There are many activities nearby that include floating through glow worm caves, jet boating, day walking or lake cruising. You can try your hand at fishing on the Waiau River which is only 200m away plus we are just a ten minute walk from one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world! We have a couple of bikes you can use to bike to town or enjoy the Lake to Lake trail which is only 200 meters from our house. From the serious angler who wants to target great fish to novices, there is great fishing around your accommodation. The local river the Waiau is only 200 metrea away and is renown for having one of the largest number of fish per kilometre in New Zealand. The Kepler Oaks Chalet is also only 5 minutes from Te Anau and 15 minutes from Manapouri by car. If walking is what you are after the chalet is positioned only 10 minutes walk from the start of the world famous Kepler Track. Here you can also leave your vehicle whilst walking the track. The Chalet is only a 10 minute walk to one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world that over looks Lake TeAnau.
