About this Holiday House

Traditional Kiwi bach situated midway between Mokau and Awakino villages, right on the beach. Awesome views of the ocean and Mt Taranaki from the deck. 5 minutes to Mokau village where there are 2 cafes, takeaways and the local butcher. Also an EV charging station. 5 minutes north is Awakino and the Awakino pub. 1 hour to Te Kuiti and 1hr 15min to New Plymouth. This is a comfortable, homely little bach with the beach right on your doorstep. Mokau has great fishing and surfing all year round, and whitebaiting through the season. I don’t accept last minute enquiries. At least 3 days ahead of booking is preferred.

This is indeed a nice homely little bach right on the water front with great views from inside. It was exactly what we were looking for and we would be happy to return. At times the surf was so loud we could not hear the traffic on the road behind. Clean and tidy when we arrived. Had everything we needed in the kitchen, heater and so on. For us it was 5 star rating, but that might imply to other people that it was flash.

Great location tucked in off the main road and very little road noise..Great access directly onto beach and pretty awesome outlook from inside. The batch was clean and tidy and well stocked with homeware. The sliding door was a bit of trick but opening the windows helped it to open & close.Very grateful for the new heater which kept us cozy but would not be required in the summer.There were a couple of ants but the homeowner has traps set .The batch is very orignal so the odd thing here and there needs a bit of attention but overall a really nice place to stay we will return.
