The BBQ and seating are great for dining al fresco. Both the dinning area and the lounge have double doors out to the fully fenced backyard. The master en-suite bedroom is light and peaceful being the furthest from the main living area. The armchair can make for a nice quiet spot, as can the garden outside. The garden backs onto a reserve and is frequented by native birds and bringing lovely dawn chorus. This room has a super comfy queen bed. The king bed room has memory foam mattress which is just a dream to sleep on. This room has a piano and a door that leads to the back garden. The bunk room gets a sea view from the top bunk. This room is ideal for kids. The workdesk doubles as a great drawing and craft spot for kids. The king single room has it's own sofa verdent outlook. Both are both suitable for kids or adults. The house has a ping pong table and a basketball hoop in the fully fences backyard. We have a trampoline, but due to our chewy pup it is no longer safe for use and we do not advertise it as a result. If you use it it is at your own risk. We also have a fussball table.

In summer beaches, water sports, arty and gastro options abound. We are a 10 minute walk to Mapua Wharf with the wine bar, restaurants, beer brewery, live music, coffee shops, art and craft stores. There is a large kids playground, bakery, pharmacy, medical centre, all the shops you need in Mapua Village centre. Take the ferry or drive to Rabbit island for a whole other world or biking, beaching and BBQ in in the forest and closer to the beach. The Great Taste Trail bike track starts in Nelson goes all the way to Kaiteriteri with alternate inland routes. The coastal section goes through Mapua via rabbit island (using the ferry as a crossing point) and can open up great adventure options.
