About this Holiday House

Fantastic sea views. Set on top of a hill our cosy Lockwood "A"frame home is right in the Kawhia township, walking distance to dairies, hotel,bars, cafes, wharf, the beach & fishing . Fishing charters are available and there is a great golf course within a 2 minute drive. Our home is extremely relaxing,comfortably furnished and totally self contained.Your own slice of paradise.The property is very private,ideally suited for a couple wanting a romantic getaway,you can sip champagne in the bath and see the harbour views or see the beautiful sunsets from the deck. Kawhia is famous for its great fish & chips from the Kawhia Fish Shop opposite the wharf. The Kawhia Boat Club has nice meals on Friday & Saturday nights,visitors are welcome. The Kawhia Sands & The Kawhia Hotel have a great selection of lovely food on their respective menus. At Ocean Beach you can take your spade & dig you own hot pool at low tide & enjoy a nice bottle of wine & all the tranquility of Kawhia. Please note there is parking at the driveway access to the property. So there is a reasonable walk up a grass walkway up to the Bach which is not suitable for anyone who has any health or mobility issues. This is a SmokeFree property. This is a SmokeFree property, maximum 2 people (adults only)

Had a lovely stay! They were not kidding about walking up the grassy walk way, after a few days our calves and buns had a great work out so we loved it! - I would agree if you arent very physically able it would be a struggle. We went to the pub and had a good chat with a local man Gordy with interesting stories about Kawhia. Hot water beach is a 7min drive away and was super cool to wiggle your feet in and find warm sand underneath. Had an amazing dinner at the new Sands of Kawhia restaurant/hotel and takeaways on the wharf the next night. Was confused about there being another 3 beds up the stairs? As no mention of this at all.. But we had only bought the one set of sheets so the downstairs bed was used. Really enjoyed the stay, thanks to Chris and Shannon

Dani was great to deal with With the regard to the 3 beds upstairs this area is for private storage use only and it is not part of the accommodation deal. We only let to 2 people on the understanding they use the main bedroom downstairs.
