Turangi is a stunning and adventure filled town and just a seven-minute drive from the edge of Lake Taupo. Enjoy the stunning scenery exploring the Tongariro River Trail or try your hand at some local fishing. Further afield, if you are wanting to discover the picturesque volcanic alpine landscapes, drive 22 minutes to hike the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.
The kids will love the Tongariro National Trout Centre, where they can catch their very own trout, or there is mini golf, rock climbing and a playground at Te Mapua Park.
If you are feeling peckish, drive two-minutes into the Turangi town centre to explore the local cafes, where you can find the best coffee in town and the many restaurants and bars. There is also a New World supermarket in town if you are needing to stock up on supplies.
