Te Whare Rangi, a historic Victorian home dating back to 1858, provides a unique retreat with rich heritage, once the residence of renowned Nelson photographer William Tyree and former Mayor Edward Everett. The home boasts stunning views of Haulashore Island, which was formed by the new harbour entrance (The Cut) in 1906. Opposite The Cut, the Boulder Bank stretches 11 km to the north, while Tasman Bay and Abel Tasman National Park fill the central view. To the west, the dramatic Tasman and Arthur mountain ranges complete the picturesque scenery. The Tasman Suite features a private, lockable room with its own small kitchen, washer, dryer, and multiple tables for dining or working. Guests also have access to several shared spaces on the second floor, including a well-equipped kitchen, a cozy living room, a delightful veranda, a small deck, and a brick patio with outdoor seating - perfect for relaxing and enjoying the serene surroundings. The suite is equipped with modern amenities, including a Google Home Speaker, a Smart TV, and super-fast WiFi with unlimited data. Noise in the area - The waterfront road is busy & all properties within this area are subject to some road noise. However, the evenings are typically quiet with much less traffic. Parking - We have space for one or two cars, depending on the number of guests, on a first-come, first-served basis. If the driveway is full, there’s ample street parking just a short walk from the property.
