The house is located on a quiet street with a bus stop to go to town for $2.50 or hire some of the 5 bikes for a small charge to cycle along the lovely whanganui river bank along the mighty whanganui walkway to the historic city center or bustling Saturday markets,the historic Waimarie and #12 tram or cycle up to the Virginia Lake to feed the ducks (bread can be supplied on arrangement) see the Winter Gardens and Bird Aviary. The house is well built to have the sun in nearly all rooms, most of the day and is very user friendly with an open plan living lounge that can be divided if you what a quiet time away from the kids. The kitchen is very well stocked with baking utensils etc. and the bathroom is a very spacious wet floor with hand rails for the older guests. Sorry but the house is not suitable for disability purposes at this stage.Due to to the three steps into the house in the front, with hand rail and the deck steps at the back. but once in the house is fairly wheelchair friendly. When it comes to bedtime you are sure to have a good sleep in the super king size bed fitted with snuggly polar sheets so warm that you probably won't need the electric blanket that is supplied. The owners are very willing to make your stay rememberable as possible. Three bedroom farm house with full facilities for either being self contained or handy enough to local bar/cafe for dining Access through the farm to the beautiful Rangitikei river for trout fishing and other river activities. (about 10-15 minute walk depending on fitness) Suitable for kids. We also have a mountain buggy stroller available. Access to native bush walks on the farm.

Kokako Lodge is a compact self contained haven, with upcycled Rustic decor. The lodge sits on our family property of 1 acre, it has established trees and gardens. Kokako lodge is a separate abode to the main house. It has a main bedroom with a queen sized bed and a mezzanine floor above the kitchen which has 2 single or a king sized bed. The walls are adorned with NZ local artists drawings and paintings, kokako Lodge is a 5 minute drive from the city. It is situated close to the Wanganui river board walk which goes all the way to the city. We also have 2 bikes available for your use. Kokako Lodge is a real treasure.
