The Land before Time
The Glass House of Waterfall Bay: Arguably the most beautiful house in the Sounds the Glass House showcases true harmony between nature and architecture.
This magnificent glass and steel house lies behind a screen of native bush with the only inhabitants for 25 acres being quails, tuis, kereru and wekas.
The house consists of three magnificent pavilions over 100 metres with soaring ceilings and matai polished floors.
The entertainment pavilion is designed to look out over the green water to the towering cliffs and shag rock, the nesting ground of the Black shags. There are two huge open fireplaces. One faces the kitchen and antique French dining table which seats 14 with full TV, stereo and Wi-Fi facilities.
The middle pavilion consists of a bunkroom with 4 double bunks and a white marble bathroom, and 3 Queen size bedrooms, all with their own green or white marble bathrooms.
The third master pavilion has its own tea and coffee making facilities a super king bed and a super king daybed. It has a green marble bathroom which opens onto the forest floor.
All the bedrooms have their own unique forest and ocean views.
The house is surrounded by native flaxes to tempt the birds and bush with outdoor seating for up to twenty and a spa pool sitting on the deck nestled by native trees and looking over the water.

Activities:
From the house/ No Charge
Walks: The house links up to the Queen Charlotte walkway and guests can walk as little or as much as they like from one hour to 3 days. Guests who don’t like to walk backwards can be picked up from jetties one hour, two hours, three hours… you decide. Anakiwa is 2 and I/2 hours walk and Te Mahia jetty one hour. Some guests like to walk to the Te Mahia jetty and swim the 800 metres back to the house.!
Swimming: Our most popular swims are to Shag rock and back I km, between the old bach and the new back 500 metres and to Te Mahia jetty and back 1. 6 kms.
