About this Holiday House

This charming farm house is such a fun way to experience the outer Marlborough Sounds. Set in the middle of Akaroa Station in Anakoha Bay it is one of three holiday lets set amongst a huge lawn and garden area. The cottage was built in 1910 and has been updated throughout with a modern kitchen and renovated bathroom. Bedroom 1 - King Bed Bedroom 2 - Queen Bed Bedroom 3 - Set of single bunks with roll out trundler, set of King single bunks. This bach is a perfect base if you are planning to fish throughout the outer Marlborough Sounds or perhaps you just want somewhere to escape to with a book and watch the tide come and go from your window. The wood burning fire doesn't take long to heat up the living areas and there is a seperate laundry with an extra toilet. We have 2 double kayaks and a single to share. Two of which are able to hold your fishing rod and tackle gear. Drive through Akaroa Station in Anakoha Bay to find a group of 3 bachs sharing a huge lawn area and native gardens. Hire 1 or check out the others to book more for larger groups. We have a linen service available at $20 per person (lovely fresh bedding and towels). Otherwise you will need to bring your own. While there are 3 bach rentals close by and the main farm house up the drive, you will still feel secluded and have a sense of privacy with plantings offering natural privacy. Each bach is positioned in different areas of the sloping lawn and all have a different outlook onto the bay. See the aerial photo attached. Anakoha is a magical spot. Nic and Chloe are wonderful hosts and the houses are comfortable and well supplied. The fishing was amazing and we can’t wait to go back. Thank you for having us!

Wonderful spot to have a family holiday. 7 nights was clearly not long enough for us all. We all loved the fishing off the jetty. Grandchildren especially. You don’t need a boat to have beautiful fish for dinner. There was plenty of extras to do with the games room, kayaking, toys, games and books in house. Easy access for boat from jetty. Wonderful hosts. Thank you both for an awesome holiday spot.

Thanks Graeme!

We have stayed at many different baches in the sounds and these ones top the lot, so worth the journey! We booked all 3 for an extended family holiday and couldn't have asked for more. The houses are clean, have very comfortable beds and very well equipped. The hosts Chloe and Nick are beautiful people and went out of their way to make our stay extra special. There is a huge lawn surrounding the houses which was great for kids as well as some lovely books and toys. Also the best fishing we have found from the beach. We can't wait to get back!
Response from Owner
Thanks for your kind words Natasha. You guys did an awesome job coordinating the water taxi etc for such a large group! You currently still hold the biggest snapper caught from the dingy. Im trying my best to snatch the title. All the best back in Chch. Hopefully see you all again. Chloe and Nick.
