Short drive to Buffalo beach safe for swimming and paddle boarding, take the bucket and spade and a picnic, you can walk into town or it's a short drive where there are plenty of places to eat and drink, there is a playground, movie theatre, skate park and mini golf. On the wharf is where the passenger ferry can take you on a 3-minute trip to Ferry Landing, the boat tours leave from there as well, so head out to see some of the most beautiful coastline in the world, you can't go past visiting Cathedral Cove which is named on the World's top 10 places to visit. If you feel like going for a drive, then head off for the day for a drive to Hahei this is where the track to walk to Cathedral cove begins. Take a spade and head to Hot water Beach, at low tide you can dig a hole and it will fill with warm water. Or you can make your way to Coromandel Town it's about a 40-minute drive, but the trip is well worth it for the views alone and the town is quaint with some great places to eat and drink.
