The property is located along a gated private drive, surrounded by outstanding landscaping, beautiful plantings, the sea & beach below to the North, & the mountains of Kahurangi National Park & the calm waters of the Moutere Inlet to the South - an exceptionally beautiful, private & peaceful location.
Floor to ceiling glass doors encase & reveal the spacious living, dining & kitchen hub, opening to expansive lawns & breathtaking unimpeded sea & mountain views.
There is a sheltered solar heated swimming pool, pool-side BBQ area, pool table, Sonos music system & WiFi throughout the property.
Kina Retreat is just a short drive from award winning local wineries, great local food growers, restaurants, cafes, beaches & fishing. The beautiful beaches, walks & sea kayaking experiences in the Abel Tasman National Park are just a short drive away, several golf courses are within 30mins drive, the closest just 5mins drive away. The Great Taste cycle trail is readily accessible, Mapua wharf galleries & dining, Nelson City, Golden Bay & the Nelson Lakes areas are within easy day-tripping distance. The Nelson region offers days & days of opportunity to explore & enjoy wine touring, fresh & saltwater fishing, sailing diving, hiking, mountainbiking, rock-climbing, caving, sky-diving, rafting, golf & more!

Special notes:
>Private holiday home - This home is a personal holiday home. The home is extremely well equipped & presented as photographed, however, some of the owner's personal belongings will remain at the home in wardrobes, pantries etc. While very little is sacrificed in terms of the 'guest experience', this aspect has been factored into pricing, providing you with incredible value relative to similar properties around the country.
>The Treehouse will be made available when the home is booked for 7 or more guests. The Treehouse can be booked for smaller guest groups at additional cost - please enquire for more information.
>Swimming pool - This pool is solar heated. Solar heating is generally effective in Nelson-Tasman between December & April, when the weather is warmer and the days are longer. Water temperature will of course be subject to actual weather conditions.
Outside of the 'swimming months', the solar system is ineffective and will not be operated. Cold water swimming will of course be possible - please let us know if you intend to swim during this time and we'll have the pool serviced prior to your arrival.
>Rural area - Kina Retreat is located in a rural area with mains power, tank water & rural broadband internet. 99% of the time these services will run perfectly, but the rural nature of the property can occasionally mean that some patience & understanding is necessary.
>Check-in available between 3pm and 7pm (or earlier by agreement).
- One of our team will travel from Nelson (approx. 60min travel time) to provide access and a brief orientation for you.
- Late arrivals after 7pm do not allow check ins to be completed within our standard operating hours and may not be possible. Where we are able to agree to check in after 7pm an additional service charge of NZD 250+GST will apply.
>Check-out should be completed by 10am.
- Late departure is not generally available here due to the servicing timeframes of such a large property.
- You may consider booking an additional night if a late departure is desired.
