About this Holiday House
Light and bright with lashings of luxury, The House - The Lodge Te Horo is a spacious four-bedroom home with living spaces, indoor and out, that can only be described as majestic.
From the moment you turn off the country road and down the driveway, you’ll know relaxation and indulgence are coming your way. Upon opening the door, the modest exterior gives way to a modern, well-presented retreat featuring a spacious open-plan design, vaulted ceilings, and an array of windows and doors that drench the entire home in sunlight.
Downstairs at The House - The Lodge Te Horo features two stunning living spaces, tastefully decorated with pops of art and architecture that give a nod to the building's history and rural surroundings. Kept warm in winter with three wood-burning fireplaces, this is a cosy haven to spend a mid-year getaway, and come summertime, air-conditioning and a breeze from the nearby coast keep you comfortably cool.
WIFI and a Smart TV with Netflix are on offer to keep you entertained, but with an outdoor area like this to enjoy, you might find the only time you turn on a device is to snap a few photos to capture the expansive beauty. Sun loungers, two outdoor coffee nooks, and a fire pit complete with bench seating all provide perfect spots to soak up the sun and native birdsong any time of day.
The well-equipped farm style kitchen at The House - The Lodge Te Horo offers everything you’ll need to prepare delicious meals, or take things outside for a good ol’ Kiwi BBQ and dine alfresco on the patio.
At the end of the day, you’ll look forward to laying your head down in one of the four cosy bedrooms. Each with a king or queen bed, all feature a calming leafy outlook and offer a secluded space to retreat to any time of the day. Level two of this beautiful home offers that extra bit of privacy, the bedroom being paired with a small living space. Two modern bathrooms provide a little bit of luxury, including a bathtub to soak in with a glass of wine and a good book.
The House - The Lodge Te Horo is located just two minutes drive from the small township of Te Horo, and it’s only a 10-minute drive north to Otaki for eateries, a supermarket, outlet shopping, and the beautiful Otaki Beach! For a beach a little closer and quieter, Te Horo Beach with its sandy shore and views to Kapiti Island is only six minutes drive from your home away from home.
Highly recommended and just 200m from The Lodge Te Horo is one of New Zealand's top cooking schools, owned by renowned caterer Ruth Pretty. Book in for a masterclass, or visit the Garden Room, a glass covered outdoor area serving delightful morning and afternoon teas.
Quiet country luxury just minutes from the beach awaits you here at The House - The Lodge Te Horo.
