Aotea Homestead & Cottage are the prefect place for a getaway with family and friends. The beautiful Aotea homestead was built in 1914 and has recently been lovingly restored. Located on a working sheep & beef station in the Hinakura Valley, 25 minutes east of the Martinborough wine village and is only 16 km from the Pahaoa Coast, which offers great fishing at the river mouth. With no cell phone reception and limited wifi, it is the perfect place to enjoy quality time with each other. Linen and towels are provided so all you need to bring is your food. There is an unmarked lawn tennis court, great sandpit for the kids and outdoor games. Guests are welcome to enjoy a walk on the farm, where there are animals to feed especially around springtime. The river is nice and close complete with a lovely swimming hole and the rugged coast line is only a 20 min drive down the road. There are also horse treks 40 mins away. If the weather isn't great there are board games available and sky tv to watch. There is also seasonal fruit available, and our water is sourced from a natural spring. Aotea offers two types of accommodation that are approximately 50m apart. With fantastic views of the sea and Kapiti Island, this fully equipped home also boasts a swimming pool for extra fun in the sun. The house comfortably sleeps 8 (maximum of 10) and consists of three bedrooms (one with ensuite and spa bath). The detached sleepout can also sleep an additional 3 people and has its own toilet and shower.Please supply childrens ages and optional linen/cleaning hire if required,you may provide your own .Please state which option. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor toys to keep the children occupied and a lovely warm sunroom for the adults. Our master bedroom offers a super-king bed with ensuite, the second bedroom also has a super-king bed, while the third bedroom offers both a super-king bed and king-single bed. This room can be configured to three singles. Upstairs in our mezzanine floor, we have a super-king bed, and a luxurious single sofa bed if needed. Amble down the drive to our fully renovated cottage with sleeping for five guests. A super king bed, king single upstairs on the mezzanine and a fold out double sofa bed in the lounge.
