Nestled in the gardens of the historic Tinui Station Homestead you find Poplar Cottage, a four bedroom self-contained cottage for up to eight people. Pet friendly but strictly by arrangement. The Cottage features four bedrooms, full bathroom plus separate WC, cosy open plan living area with a wood burner and a continuous verandah on three sides. In front of the cottage, you’ll find the spa pool under the stars, as well as room to BBQ and dine on the verandah. Poplar Cottage enjoys a private and expansive view of the natural amphitheatre rising up to the Tinui Taipo incorporating mature Poplar trees over 30 metres in height, framing the grassy meadows beneath. These cast dappled sunlight far enough from the dwelling so as not to impede abundant morning and daytime sunshine, and provide a peaceful ambience. The garden and grounds are a sanctuary for birds thanks to over five years of biodynamic practices. More than 30 species of bird have been spotted here. From the Bellbird bringing in the dawn chorus, Tui celebrating the sunset and the Morepork closing off the night, vibrant bird life defines the relaxing backdrop of the Estate. There is much to enjoy here in the tranquil surrounds. The immediate garden area is wrapped by a river-stone wall and home to established trees and flowers to charm you. Discover the bustling orchard of plum, peach, nectarine, pear, apple and citrus. Explore further! You will find the twin oaks that have watched over the Homestead since its founding over a century ago. Each corner of the grounds has its theme, from multiple plantings of native New Zealand plants and trees to the Rhododendron and Australian tree corners. Further afield, there is much to see and do. Around the corner, walk the Tinui Anzac Walkway up to the Anzac Cross – marking the first Anzac Commemoration in New Zealand in 1916. Look around charming Tinui Village. We are centrally located to Mataikona, Castlepoint, Otahome and Riversdale beaches with a choice of options for swimming (Riversdale is patrolled during the summer season), walks, fishing, snorkelling and sights to see. The coastal walk at Castlepoint and up to the tallest lighthouse in the North Island is a must do. Inland, Rewanui Forest Park offers forest walks with notable plantings of native trees. Tennis court hire is available at Castlepoint. Or play golf at the Castlepoint Golf Course or Riversdale Beach Golf Club. Both golf courses are nine-hole courses – with the option to extend the Riversdale course to 18 holes by playing twice from different tees. Highview Retreat is a modern, well-appointed home built in 2011. It is on the Goldfield Heights hillside and built in 4 levels to take advantage of the spectacular views over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkable Mountains. With two large living areas and 7 bedrooms it is a fantastic place to gather with family and friends for a special occasion - a big birthday, an anniversary, your wedding or just a stay away in New Zealand's top holiday destination. Highview has seen family ski weeks, corporate retreats, cooking demonstrations, girls' weekends, mountain biking adventures and golfing getaways. Come and share Queenstown's wealth of activities with your family and friends - wine tasting, biking, walking, golf, shopping, adventure and thrill seeking fun. Highview's spacious linked apartments share two living areas. In one there is an open fire and lots of lounging space. Here you have Freeview TV with a DVD player and Chromecast. This living room has floor to ceiling windows and a view over the pond and creek beside the house as well as views over the lake and mountains. The second living area is on the next level down. It also has fabulous views, an electric fire and Freeview TV as well Chromecast so you can watch your favourite shows or movies. There are two good-sized, fully equipped kitchen-dining areas. In each of the kitchen-dining areas there is a heat pump. You can enjoy a barbecue on the verandah and relax in our 6 person spa overlooking the lake and mountains after an active day. There are 7 bedrooms. 5 have king beds each with an ensuite, 1 king bedroom has an adjacent bathroom, and 1 twin bed room that has an adjacent toilet. All the king beds can be split into two single beds. Two of the king room's ensuites have a bath set into the window with a view out over the Lake. Get in quick for these rooms! The bedrooms all have wall mounted heaters and the bathrooms have wall mounted heaters and under-floor heating. There are ski storage lockers available in the carpark. Bed linen and towels are all provided for our normal bed configuration which sleeps up to 14 people. Cleaning after you leave is included in the tariff. If you're staying more than 7 nights we suggest a clean and linen change halfway through your stay.
